Teed off

When did it become desirable to live on a golf course?

And why?

P.S. It's not genetic.

Golf is actually a very challenging game. Why all the hate? Because it's mainly for old, rich, white men? Because it uses vast resources of land (and water, and fertilizer, etc.) and represents the ultimate in private property privilege?

Living near a golf course is better than living near a strip mall, unless that strip mall has an Auntie Ann's pretzel shop, and then all bets are off.
